Lawmakers, UNE students get look at system for tracking sales of pseudoephedrine

BIDDEFORD, Maine —
The national system that tracks the use of pseudoephedrine blocked the illegal sale of more than 6,000 boxes of the drug in Maine last year, health officials said.
Pseudoephedrine, which is found in many common over-the-counter allergy and cold medications, can be misused to produce meth.
Maine lawmakers and University of New England students got to see the National Precursor Log Exchange, or NPLEx, Wednesday in Biddeford.
