Letter: Don’t be a party to making meth

It’s good to see law enforcement going after homegrown criminals in the fight against methamphetamine.

There is a push to stop “smurfing,” and it has nothing to do with blue cartoon characters. Smurfing is the practice of going into a store on behalf of a meth maker and purchasing products containing pseudoephedrine, the active ingredient in meth.

Pharmacies and retailers are on the front lines of the battle, and they hosted an event recently in Knoxville to highlight what’s being done to stop these crooks.
