Fight Meth with smart rules, not overreaching laws

Government regulation can take many forms. Actions such as new fees or legislation restricting what products Oklahoman’s can buy are two such examples.
In recent years, there has been a push for the latter, a call from some to require a prescription for pseudo-ephedrine (PSE) products, in the name of fighting meth. Thankfully, legislators, such as Rep. David Derby, R-Owasso, and Sen. Rick Brinkley, R-Owasso, from northeast Oklahoma stood up for the rights of our citizens and instead implemented targeted tough, but fair, legislation that made it significantly harder for meth criminals to obtain PSE to turn into meth and the results have been incredible.
