Pharmacy Database Leads To Start-Up Meth Lab Bust

GASTONIA, N.C. A man found with precursor materials for a meth lab was busted by the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, authorities say, in large part due to a national pseudoephedrine-tracking system.

Christopher Lee Sisk, 37, of Gastonia, was arrested by the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office and charged with felony possess or distribute meth precursor and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.

Narcotics investigators had been tracking Sisk on the National Precursor Exchange Log (NPLEx) and took him into custody last Thursday.

A search of Sisk’s vehicle turned up pseudoephedrine, muriatic acid, lithium battery, lye, metal pliers, tube cutters, coffee filters, cold compress and aluminum foil, all items used to set up a meth lab, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

Narcotics Division Lieutenant Jason Reid says, "NPLEx continues to be a very valuable tool in proactively working meth lab cooks in our county."
