Fight Against Meth Persists

I read with interest in your newspaper earlier this month saying that methamphetamine is becoming more common in Sterling [“Cops: Meth making a comeback in Sterling,” Sauk Valley Media, Jan. 3].

The Illinois Retail Merchants Association and our member stores and pharmacies are vigilant and committed to stopping criminals who attempt to manufacture meth in Illinois by using the ingredients found in certain cold and allergy medications.

The National Precursor Log Exchange (NPLEx) – used with great success across Illinois and in 29 other states around the country – blocks the illegal purchase of pseudoephedrine and continues to be extremely effective fighting meth crime.
